Florida dance rockers Mouse Fire will release their sophomore album Big Emotion June 8th on Lujo Records. Emotion is the follow up to 2007 debut Wooden Teeth and sees help from friends Jeremy Griffith (Moments in Grace) on mixing and TW Walsh (Pedro the Lion, Headlights) on mastering. They will tour behind the new release for most of 2010.
The Polk County, Florida natives made Big Emotion to reflect the band's big changes: the departure of lead singer Joey Bruce. Now fronted by lead guitarist Shane Schuch, they saw the shift as an opportunity to re-gear and make an album that reflects each member of band, which is also Justin Cason on bass and Aaron Venrick on drums. Mouse Fire's upbeat tempos and dynamics flit with enough restraint to avoid disorder, keeping their song arrangements exciting and tight.
"Desert Woman" opens the album with laid back alt-country and a slight rock crunch, and first single "Don't Mess With A Texan" shows Mouse Fire's signature dance rock on full display with disco beats and sleek electric guitars. "The Comedy Of..." is an electro-heavy mix of strings and synths, while mostly acoustic ballad "But It's Not What You Think" shows the band's slower side. On the whole, Schuch's suave vocals glossing over driving bass lines, crunchy guitar licks, and synthesizer stabs proves Emotion to be Mouse Fire at its best.
“With their youth and talent… music fans should be excited about having the chance to watch these guys grow and evolve before our eyes." - REAX magazine

Ten By Ten Video
Bluebrain unveil the new video for single "Ten by Ten" by praised director Gabe Askew. Best known for his Ed Droste-applauded fan video for Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks," Askew directed and animated Bluebrain's video with the same elaborate detail. "Ten by Ten" is the new single from Bluebrain's electro-rock debut album Soft Power, which The Onion's AV Club described as a "lush, perplexing affair... swelling from clever electro-pop ditties to dense, cathartic arrangements."
Watch Bluebrain's new "Ten by Ten" video now Here.
